Charitha Nirmalee

Miss. Charitha Nirmalee joined the Focus Academy International as a Professional Music Instructor. She has a Bachelor’s Special degree in Music from the University of the visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka. She is presently following the master’s degree in western music in the University of Kalaniya. She won many awards at inter school music competitions & was in the school band. She successfully completed the Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow India the Visharadh course of instrumental Violin and Vocal. She later started learning the music instrument “Cello” in the University of Kalaniya. She learnt Piano & Western Violin from the TRINITY College London and also completed IWMS (Institute of Western Music and Speech) diploma in Piano. She learnt Western music Theory from the TRINITY College London and IWMS. She successfully completed the National Music Praramba, Madyama and Awasana in Western music stream from the Department of Examination Sri Lanka. She has well over 5 years of professional Performing Music experience as well.

Charitha has won many awards, that include Sri Lanka Western Province Indian Classical Music Winner in 2011, Annual Ministry of culture & the Arts – Music group singing 1st place in 2011, 2012 and also won the all island music competition Group Singing-2nd place in 2008. Participation in Tower hall orchestra and singing drama Championship and participant in several times in the University stage performances. She loves to share her musical experience and musical knowledge among the students of Focus Academy International.
