Recorder

The recorder flute is a family of woodwind musical instruments also known as fipple flutes. It was popular as early as the 14th century. There are 3 main parts of a recorder – the head joint, body joint and foot joint. There are 5 main types of recorders in the world. They are sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The sopranino recorder is the smallest and the highest recorder. The soprano is the most common recorder. The alto recorder is the largest and higher than the tenor, but lower than the soprano. The tenor recorder is the next one lower from the alto recorder. The bass recorder is the lowest recorder. The sound of the recorder is often described as clear soft and sweet, and has historically been associated with birds and shepherds.
